“My background goes back to 1987 in Daytona Beach Florida where
I was graduating college and preparing for a seven year commitment with
the U.S. Air Force. During college I was known as the fastest Domino's
Pizza guy in town. (Ask Daytona's finest!) No, I wasn't driving a Buick,
it was a freshly painted 1972 Chevy Nova with a Killer 350 small block
under the hood. Then I find this awesome looking Monte........ah 1984
Buick Regal GN for sale. It even had a factory turbo on it, cool. Took
it for a short test ride and the seller proceeds to tell me his brother
in law just bought the 1987 version for a modest price that even a college
student could afford. So I'm thinking............Thanks for the test
ride and the sales pitch buddy. I call my best friend and tell him to
come down to the Buick dealership with me so that I don't make any stupid
irrational decisions and buy a new car on the spot. We head down to
the local Buick dealership to test drive the 1987 Buick Grand National.
Three hours later we both walk out proud owners of 1987 Grand Nationals.
So much for his help!
We both still own our GN's however mine has gone through some dramatic
changes over the years. I have built numerous engine combinations for
the car and raced it from Atco NJ to Firebird Raceway outside Phoenix,
from Moroso in West Palm Beach to Rt 66 in Chicago. My best friend has
well over 200.000 miles on his. No major work on his motor. Original
turbo and fuel injectors, the valve covers have only recently been taken
off to replace leaky gaskets! Wow! That say's a lot about changing the
oil every 2000 miles.
I also currently race a 2000 HP turbocharged Super Street Outlaw Mustang. This blue-flamed 1992 hatchback get it done with 377 cubic inches of small-block Ford and a 94mm Precision turbo.
I served this nation as an active duty Air Force Pilot flying C-141
Starlifters for nearly ten years. I was stationed at McGuire AFB for
most of my career followed by a short assignment to Sheppard AFB in
Wichita Falls TX. I served proudly during Desert Storm/Desert Shield.
I believe I was flying, more than I was on the ground during that time.
After leaving the military in 1996, I was hired by Delta Airlines and
am currently a First Officer on the B-757/ B-767 flying domestic routes,
but flying in my GN and watching my customers become champions is still
my first love.
The opportunity to open Southeast Turbo presented itself in late 2001.
With my ASE certification I had been rebuilding 2004r's for a couple
of years prior to this. As the new kids on the block the entire team
has been working at a feverish pace to get the business off the ground
and give our customers the quality parts and service that they deserve
(see what our customers have say about us). It hasn't been easy to say
the least, but we believe we have something good to offer you. We hope
you’ll agree.”
